Pictures of the demonstration in Lewes about the poor quality of service people get from the NHS Mental Health Crisis TeamsI would just like to thank Pat for inviting me to come along and take photos of their campaign to get better services. I hope people finally sit up and listen and realise that no matter what they say, the NHS Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Teams that cover the Lewes, Wealden and Eastbourne areas are not good enough. This is not an attack on the workers, most of who seem (in my opinion) to do as best as they can with the very limited resources they have, its aimed at the people higher up that control the funding and make the decisions that can make the difference between life and death for mental health service users in that area. ONE mental health crisis worker at night, the time when most people need help – for the whole of the Eastbourne, Wealden, Lewes and the Ouse Valley based at Eastbourne. That is putting vulnerable people at great, unacceptable risk of self harm and suicide attempts. lewes_demonstration_19.JPG |

If you are experiencing mental health problems and would like help please speak to your GP or health worker and ask for a referral to a mental health team or a day service such as 47a in Lewes or Summerhayes in Newhaven. Help is available. lewes_demonstration_23.JPG |
