Some of my many photographs of the great animals at Drusillas Park Zoo in Alfriston, near Eastbourne in East Sussex. Drusillas Park Zoo is widely regarded as the best small zoo in the UK. I go at least once a month and always take photos, so if there is an animal at Drusillas Park Zoo that you want a photo of, but its not here, contact me (dean@aspexdesign.co.uk) and if I don't have the photo in my collection I will make sure I take the photo on my next visit to Drusillas. Photos so far include Rodrigues Fruit Bats, Squirrel Monkeys, Snakes, Ring-tailed Coatis, Lar Gibbons, Mice, Servals, Asian Short-clawed Otters, Canadian Otters, Yellow Mongooses and Diana Monkeys and many more. Asian short-clawed otters are found near water throughout south east Asia and are the smallest otter species. Sat 10th Jan 2009 Photos of Squirrel Monkeys taken at Drusillas Park Zoo Photos of Squirrel Monkeys ( Saimiri boliviensis ). Squirrel Monkeys are highly active and inquisitive monkeys. Their bodies are largely yellow with a black head; their tail is longer than their body and has a black tip. Description from Drusillas Park Zoo.

Sat 10th Jan 2009 Photos of Meerkats taken at Drusillas Park Zoo. Pictures of Meerkats ( Suricata suricatta ). Meerkats are members of the mongoose family. They have a slender body, pale brown on their underside with dark bands on their back. Their long front claws are ideal for digging. Description from Drusillas Park Zoo.
Meerkats are one of my all time favourite animals to take photos of, the photos always look so cute! Constructive comments on these photos are always welcome. |

Wed 18th Apr 2007 The Zookeeper for the day experience at Drusillas Park Zoo Photos of the Drusillas Park Zoo Zookeeper for the day experience.Ever since we became members at Drusillas Park Zoo about three years ago our daughter Joanne has been nagging us to let her be a keeper for a day. We finally agreed that she could do it for her 9th birthday and these are some of the photos of that day. It was a really great experience and I would recommend it to anybody. During the day she fed Penguins, Meerkats, Prairie dogs, Coatis, Wallabies, Lemurs, Capyburas and much more, she also got to hang out behind the scenes and help prepare food for the animals etc. It was well worth every penny. Thank you Claire for helping Joanne have such a great day. |

Thu 5th Apr 2007 Photos of the new Thomas the tank engine ride at Drusillas. Photos of the latest upgrade at Drusillas Park Zoo, they have changed the old train ride into an official Thomas the tank engine ride, complete with themed station and other characters such as the fat controller, James, Diesel and Cranky. We went in the Easter holidays, just a couple of days after it opened and there was lots of other Thomas related stuff going on. |

Sulawesi crested macaques are completely black with a short tail and a crest on their forehead which they raise when aroused.
